Shaking Spears takes notice of the rather nasty, and openly professed, attitudes some Europeans have towards members of other races and ethnicities. Not that I have studied the matter in depth, but it seems, maybe, the attitudes towards Jews is just the tip of the iceberg, a point not made in the post, but my own musing. Anyway, Spear Shaker notes the dangers to the social fabric in connection with continued integration and expansion.
One of the governors which damp this attitude when it rears its head, particularly in venues such as football contests, is supposed to be the overlying social forces of morality, civility, and charity as evidenced by the outrage visited on such spectacles by a general public.
Does this social force not exist in the Europe that will be Union? Is there evidence? If not, then Shaking Spear is correct that this does not bode well for Europe's future.
