George Voinovich's Kitchen Test

So Senator Voinovich has a kitchen test (via LAT):
"I think one's interpersonal skills and their relationship with their fellow man is a very important ingredient in anyone that works for me," he said. "I call it the kitchen test. Do we feel comfortable about the kitchen test? I've heard enough today that gives me some real concern about Mr. Bolton."
How about this for a kitchen test:
"I think when a chef is obligated to be in the kitchen checking that all the ingredients are there, it is very essential they, like, be there before all the cooking is done and not think it is appropriate to arrive just as the meal is served and inquire inanely of the other 17 chefs (and 10 having graduated from your alma mater) if all the ingredients have been included in a long known recipe just because some spice afficiandos are outside protesting that another dash of their favorite seasoning be added. It gives me some real concern about that chef's judgment and whether he's fit to even be allowed in the kitchen."
Be there during the making or just shut up. That's my kitchen test. And it is especially appropriate when the chef blames his ignorance of the ingredients on the fact that they moonlight in another kitchen.
