Viking Pundit links to a report of Mugabe's request for food aid now that his fantastic ideas have ripened into an upcoming famine. It won't be long before Kofi Anan steps to the microphone to ask that the collection plate be passed among the nations.

I'm not even saying that Mugabe must step down (although that would be nice). But the United Nations and the African continent - who used to depend on Zimbabwe for food - must acknowledge that Mugabe's rule has been an utter disaster.
Yet after Mugabe stole yet another election, nobody would condemn him. So, in the name of African unity, everybody starves together.
A really good couple of points, Eric.
I feel really bad about all those who worked so hard, in an honest effort, to try to oust Mugababe electorally and failed. And to now face the potential tribulation of famine, which you can be sure will be visited on them most severely, is even harder to take.
For those in the African Union, who you note turned a blind eye to the ruin Mugabe has spread, maybe the plate should be passed amongst them first. That, or they can tithe by their efforts to have him removed.
