I'll give Rep. John Murtha some credit here. The sides having been fighting the same ground for weeks. As a military man he saw a hole open in the defenses and charged into the breach to rout the opposition. Then turning to wave his colleagues through, this is what one of his leaders yelled to him:

"Jack Murtha went out and spoke for Jack Murtha." As for Iraq policy, [head of the House Democrats' campaign effort, Rep. Rahm] Emanuel (Ill.) added: "At the right time, we will have a position."

Was it worth it, John, to be fragged like that?
