Has the Taliban infiltrated the Afghan government?

This (also via Fjordman) may turn out, if successful, to be outrageous. That "Mohaqeq Nasab, the Afghan editor already sentenced to two years hard labor for "blasphemy" against Islam." may now be prosecuted again with the potential penalty being the death is the philosophical attitude of oppression we went into Afghanistan to remove, not protect and foster. This is one of the many tests Afghanis will be encountering for a long time. The quicker they dispose of this threat now, the easier it will be to tackle them in the future.

The State Department should be watching this very closely, for now, to see how this attempt to circumvent the freedoms given the Afghanis is disposed of by others in government and the general populace. The methods of and attitudes for assisting Hamid Karzai and his country in the future should depend on the results of this test.

We did not use our blood and treasure to till the ground for freedom in Afghanistan so the extremism all freedom loving peoples oppose can use that fertile ground to grow bountifully again.
