I say "Leave it up!"

Hot Air related a post out of South Africa, some business fool in South Africa put up a billboard advertisement for the Daimler-Chrysler SMART car with the blurb "German engineering, Swiss innovation, American nothing".

I think the greater outrage would have been if Daimler-Chrysler had not made it clear that there was no American contribution to this runt of a beast. My god, if this isn't an ugly step-child of the Beetle, I don't know what is.

Okay, aside from that personal aesthetical observation, the SMART car might just be the hit that puts D-C out of business -- they lose about $5K per $15-25K car (via Wired). Could that be because of the 2 year warranty (UK version, anyway)? Heck, I get a better warranty on my computer and coffeemaker.
